IF YOU ARE BEING ASKED QUESTIONS WHICH COULD RESULT IN DISCIPLINE, DO THE FOLLOWING: 1. Request a Union representative to be present before answering any questions. 2. Keep your answers to the point and very accurate. Be narrow and direct. Answer truthfully, but do not speculate, and do not ramble on. 3. Make sure you are directly ordered under pains and penalties of termination, to answer the questions. Request your Garrity Rights. Do not volunteer information. 4. Do not volunteer to take a polygraph examination, alcohol or drug test. Contact a Union representative immediately if you are requested to volunteer to take any of these tests. 5. If told you are or may be facing a disciplinary investigation, refuse to answer any questions until you have spoken with a Union representative or Union attorney. 6. ASK if you are unsure if the questioning can lead to discipline. ASK for representation. DO NOT refuse to obey a lawful order, but do verbalize your opposition.
